Julie and Rich…Engaged! ~New Haven, CT Engagement Session

When Julie, a close friend and classmate of mine at business school, asked me to photograph her engagement session, I was SO honored (and incredibly nervous!!)

Julie and her fiance Rich met when Julie was in high school, and Rich was the Yearbook faculty advisor – Although they went their separate ways, the two reconnected years later, and realized that there was something there, that they were meant to be together…and have been inseparable ever since!

Julie and Rich are getting married next year in Florida, but they wanted to capture some of the spectacular autumn scenery in New England while Rich was up visiting. Julie and Rich, you guys were SO fabulous to work with – thanks for making my job so easy!

We began by Yale University’s “Old Campus” – a beautiful collection of old stone buildings classically representative of Yale’s architecture.

Julie, you are absolutely GORGEOUS!!

I love sun-flares!!

After a quick outfit change, we finished the second half of the session in beautiful East Rock Park, which overlooks the town of New Haven.

I tried a slightly different editing technique on this one – what do you think?

Julie and Rich, thank you both SO much for letting me capture your love – I had a fantastic time, and I wish you all the best in your journey together!

Until Next Time, StayFabulous!

Viktoria and Marco…Married! ~ Washington D.C. Weddings

I had the distinct honor of shooting Viktoria and Marco’s fabulous DC wedding a few weeks ago, and I’m so excited to be sharing their amazing day with you!

When I met them for the first time, I was struck by just how easy their relationship was. He made her laugh, she made him smile – and their subtle glances showed just how much they loved eachother. Marco and Viktoria met when Marco was Viktoria’s sister’s roommate, and the two have been together ever since. Their whole day was filled with beauty, laughter, and a lot of love – an absolutely perfect way to celebrate the beginning of their journey together!

Viktoria, my dear, you are S.T.U.N.N.I.N.G!

After the ceremony, Viktoria and Marco let me have FOUR HOURS (yes, FOUR HOURS!!!) to do portraits – for those of you photographers out there, you know just how AWESOME this is!

We started off at the Tudor House, a gorgeous colonial mansion in the heart of Georgetown.

Here’s the fabulous bridal party! (Check out those pink bridesmaid dresses! LOVE LOVE!! perfect for the summer day)

After the manison, we took a quick drive over to the National Cathedral and the Cathedral Gardens – one of of the most beautiful cathedrals I’ve ever been to. The rustic charm of the gardens perfectly complements the elegance of this couple.

and R.A.W.R – don’t they look absolutely FIERCE?

This picture is one of my favorites – looks just like Prince Charming coming to sweep his lady off her feet, doesn’t it?

My favorite part of the reception was the chocolate fountain. Delicious!

Viktoria and Marco, thank you so much for letting me be a part of your special day. I wish you all the best in this journey together!

Until Next Time, StayFabulous!

Rebecca and Christian…married! ~ Washington D.C. Weddings

When I first met Rebecca and Christian, the thought that went through my head was “simple elegance.” Everything, from their private outdoor ceremony in the Constitution Gardens to her stunning dress, hair, and makeup, was just that – simple and oh-so-elegant!!

It was a gorgeous, sultry summer evening when Rebecca and Christian said their vows in an intimate outdoor ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends. Rebecca and Christian opted to do bridal portraits before their guests arrived – I love when couples get the opportunity to spend some time together during the day of their wedding, whether its a first look or after the ceremony. With everything else going on during the craziness of the day, its important to take a few minutes to just be with each other:)

R.A.W.R.  - Rebecca you are GORGEOUS!

The World War II Memorial was just nearby, so we took a little stroll over there…
…where we had some fun cooling off in the fountain!!
I LOVE this shot with the Washington Monument in the background

The ceremony was on a small private island in the middle of Constitution Park – what a wonderful backdrop!

Rebecca and Christian, I wish you the very best as you embark on this new journey together – it was truly an honor to be a part of your special day!

Until Next Time…

Lisa and Chad…mArRiEd! ~ Simsbury, Connecticut wedding photography

On a beautiful crisp November day last Fall, I had the pleasure of assisting Tania of Tania Sones Photography at the gorgeous wedding of Lisa and Chad at The Riverview in Simsbury, Connecticut

While Tania photographed the ladies, I got to spend some time with Chad and his entourage! Hanging out with the guys is my favorite part about being a second shooter

Chad and his family have a special history with ice hockey,  so Chad got each of his groomsmen engraved hockey sticks to commemorate the day – I LOVE little details like this because I think it truly reflects the personality of the couple.

I thought Lisa looked absolutely STUNNING – so classy and elegant!

An emotional moment with her father:

Yayyy the ring is ON!

And a couple of detail shots to round out the afternoon!

As part of their wedding, Lisa and Chad had a Candy Bar at the end of the afternoon with almost EVERY type of candy imaginable - yummm!!!

Lisa and Chad, I wish you all the best – Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day! and Tania, thanks for letting me tag along

Until Next Time, StayFabulous!
