As they stood together, hand in hand in front of their closest family and friends, Derek looked at Amelia and quietly whispered “I love you”…and those three words expressed everything. The minute I arrived for Derek and Amelia’s wedding, I knew it was going to be a fabulous day, filled with love and laughter…and a whole lot of fun. Both Amelia and Derek’s families were so welcoming and you could feel the excitement and happiness as everyone gathered to celebrate Amelia and Derek’s love and their new journey together.
The wedding was held at the gorgeous Oxon Hill Manor in Washington D.C., near Washington’s National Harbor – it was perfect for their intimate ceremony. When Amelia arrived at the manor, she was all smiles – Amelia, you have such a beautiful and gracious personality, its easy to see why Derek fell in love with you! And who else can convince their cousins to walk her down the aisle…in traditional Scottish attire playing BAGPIPES! All the lovely personal and creative touches made the day extra special.
Amelia and Derek met as undergraduates through mutual friends in the Greek life at Johnson and Wales University, and their friends were absolutely ready to celebrate this day – complete with a serenade of the bride, as is tradition in Derek’s fraternity. It was so much fun to hang out with these guys!
Derek and Amelia, thank you for trusting me and letting me be a part of your day – I had a blast!
Amelia, you are ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!!
R.A.W.R – you two are fabulous!!
And check out how much fun this crowd had dancing!
I LOVE this expression on Amelia’s face as they cut the cake…yummm!!
And we’ll end the post with a few of the creative details of their wedding
