Joyce + Eric, Engaged! ~ Dupont Circle, Washington DC Engagement Session

They met at a casual Sunday afternoon barbecue at Georgetown’s Rose Park – Eric spotted Joyce in a gorgeous red dress under a tree chatting with her friends, and walked up to talk to her. At the end of the afternoon, they discovered they both lived in Dupont Circle and Eric offered to walk Joyce home. Along the way Eric, eager to spend more time with Joyce, asked her if she liked chocolate, and if she had ever been to Biagio – a local gourmet chocolaterie right in Dupont Circle. They made a quick stop for dessert and parted, with plans to keep in touch.

Little did they know that they would see each other sooner than either of them expected! Later that same day, Joyce was meeting up with her sister at another community event, and coincidentally (or perhaps it was fate!), Eric was also there! Since that day, their love has deepened as their their relationship grew, and 19 months later, Eric took Joyce back to Rose Park, and proposed under the same tree where they had met.

We returned to Dupont Circle and Rose Park for their engagement shoot, where their romance began. Eric and Joyce, Congratulations!!! I can’t wait to see you guys in a few weeks for your big day!

We ended the shoot in the beautiful Rose Park, under the tree where Eric proposed to Joyce.

Julie and Rich…Engaged! ~New Haven, CT Engagement Session

When Julie, a close friend and classmate of mine at business school, asked me to photograph her engagement session, I was SO honored (and incredibly nervous!!)

Julie and her fiance Rich met when Julie was in high school, and Rich was the Yearbook faculty advisor – Although they went their separate ways, the two reconnected years later, and realized that there was something there, that they were meant to be together…and have been inseparable ever since!

Julie and Rich are getting married next year in Florida, but they wanted to capture some of the spectacular autumn scenery in New England while Rich was up visiting. Julie and Rich, you guys were SO fabulous to work with – thanks for making my job so easy!

We began by Yale University’s “Old Campus” – a beautiful collection of old stone buildings classically representative of Yale’s architecture.

Julie, you are absolutely GORGEOUS!!

I love sun-flares!!

After a quick outfit change, we finished the second half of the session in beautiful East Rock Park, which overlooks the town of New Haven.

Viktoria and Marco…Married! ~ Washington D.C. Weddings

I had the distinct honor of shooting Viktoria and Marco’s fabulous DC wedding a few weeks ago, and I’m so excited to be sharing their amazing day with you!

When I met them for the first time, I was struck by just how easy their relationship was. He made her laugh, she made him smile – and their subtle glances showed just how much they loved eachother. Marco and Viktoria met when Marco was Viktoria’s sister’s roommate, and the two have been together ever since. Their whole day was filled with beauty, laughter, and a lot of love – an absolutely perfect way to celebrate the beginning of their journey together!

After the ceremony, Viktoria and Marco let me have FOUR HOURS (yes, FOUR HOURS!!!) to do portraits – for those of you photographers out there, you know just how AWESOME this is!

We started off at the Tudor House, a gorgeous colonial mansion in the heart of Georgetown.

Here’s the fabulous bridal party! (Check out those pink bridesmaid dresses! LOVE LOVE!! perfect for the summer day)

After the manison, we took a quick drive over to the National Cathedral and the Cathedral Gardens – one of of the most beautiful cathedrals I’ve ever been to. The rustic charm of the gardens perfectly complements the elegance of this couple.

and R.A.W.R – don’t they look absolutely FIERCE?

This picture is one of my favorites – looks just like Prince Charming coming to sweep his lady off her feet, doesn’t it?

My favorite part of the reception was the chocolate fountain. Delicious!
